The artist has handed over the complete sum of his twenty-five thousand pound honor prize money to the MVT, which functions to preserve the Britain's independent concert spaces.

The star was given the prize on October 16 as his third album the album was chosen as the outstanding release of the past year.

Fender has chosen to hand the money over to the Music Venues Trust, in acknowledgment of the vital role local spots played in his initial steps.

"As an artist wouldn't be doing this success if it wasn't for all the shows I performed around the region, and elsewhere, when I was starting out," stated the artist. "These locations are iconic, but they are struggling."

Since the start of 2023, over 150 of these spaces have permanently closed – roughly 16 percent of the whole industry in the UK.

In the last year, top acts like the band Pulp, the group Coldplay, the singer Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all aided the trust in its efforts to help venues survive, by applying a modest fee to their ticket costs, which supports local stages.

Fender also participated, raising in excess of £100,000 on his recent tour to support thirty-eight local spots across Britain.

The money supported locations that were confronting potential shutdown due to issues caused by floods, fire incidents and personal losses, as well as permit problems, legal disputes and noise complaints.

Other venues were granted funding support in upgrading amenities and gear that positively impacted performers and audiences.

"The concept that funds from concerts in big venues backs the independent spots, where it kicks off for artists like me, is just common sense," the star has stated.

Fender is far from the only musician to donate his award winnings to worthy causes.

When they earned the trophy in 1996 for their album Different Class, lead singer the singer declared that the group would give their prize money to the non-profit War Child.

That year, rapper and singer Ms Dynamite divided her bounty across a few good causes, like the children's charity and a Sickle Cell charity.

"I also contributed a grand to my local community centre, to their gymnastics class, because I did gymnastics when I was younger and they needed updated gear," Ms Dynamite shared with a publication.

In recent years, the band gave their funds to the youth organization that developed their act, as well as other grassroots music organisations.

And the 1994 recipients they gave their award to a charity for MS after a friend was found to have the condition.

"Winning was ample," said singer the singer. "The prize was the extra but we could do without the cherry, because we had the honor. So our victory touched the lives of others."

Last week, the MVT revealed it had protected two small stages in south-east England, by transferring them to local control.

The first in the city and The Croft in the city were purchased under the Own Our Venues scheme, which is backed by the arts council and supporters who buy "ownership units" in the buildings.
