Intensive Moscow's Assaults Cut Power Across Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under escalating attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were injured while residents in eastern districts were left without electricity and encountered problems to drinking water, as stated by municipal leaders.

At the same time, a young boy was fatally injured in a distinct aerial attack in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has increased attacks on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while the country's government has demanded "substantial measures" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the America, European nations and the Group of Seven - in supplying air defence systems and implementing penalties," he wrote in a social media post.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty missiles targeted energy facilities, labeling such attacks as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were working to repair systems.

A wave of strikes hit power facilities and residential structures in Kyiv.

Multiple people wounded in the assaults on the capital have been hospitalized, as confirmed by city authorities.

Area administrators said the city endured heavy assaults overnight. A seven-year-old child was killed and multiple civilians were wounded.

The assaults follow evenings of aerial attacks in the territory, parts of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

The entire country is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to spot.

National leaders told journalists that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already affecting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated energy workers and government agencies were preparing for more assaults.
